Entry #11! The best weapon on the face of the planet, The Hessian!

Powers:
- Neutron Blast: Made illegal for any country on Earth, the Neutron Blast is the strongest weapon on Earth outside of nuclear weapons. Taking over a minute to charge up a full blast, the Hessian often uses this weapon in the 25% to 75% power range. Even at its weakest, the blast can send whole kaiju flying through the air, create craters large enough to fit a parking lot, and turn metal into slag. At full power, no monster is capable of surviving. This weapon has caused massive amounts of criticism due to its sheer destructive force that, in the wrong hands, could obliterate entire cities within a few hits. In order to be used at all, the Hessian must bend down and touch the ground with his hands so that the cannon itself can fire. A direct hit is optional for even at a range of 20 yards the effects are enough to cripple most.
- Steam Blast: The Neutron Blast is powered by its own nuclear reactor that generates steam. Hessian has large tubes on its left arm that can fill with this steam and then fire it. The steam is over 1500 degrees Celsius. When used, the Hessian has to be very careful for the extreme temperature could very well hurt his own armor. He only has so much steam at a time so continuous use is ill-advised.
- Cutter Beam: Fired from the red orb on the Hessian’s head, the robot can fire a red cutter beam that can slice straight through solid kaiju bone.
- ”Weapon Hand”: The Hessian’s left hand is known as the “weapon hand” for it is the only part of the robot that is meant for close range, hand-to-hand fighting. The most obvious weapon here is the blade which can pump a kaiju with electricity. The blade can be launched off as a projectile, or simply released and dropped to the ground, allowing the Hessian to transform the fingers into a round saw, hence the teeth on the fingers. The saw is hardly ever used and often a last resort if a kaiju gets close and the steam and blade can’t be used.
- Attachments: The Hessian’s right arm is designed to have limitless attachment capabilities. His three most common attachments are a shot gun (that has 12 rounds), a mini-gun (that has over 5000) rounds, and a basic hand. The guns act exactly like human-sized guns and have proven to be much, much more effective than bombs and weapons. Other attachments have included “Kaiju Cattle Prods” (which Plague and Swamp have used on Big Cattie).
- Armor: The armor on the Hessian is extremely durable, able to take massive punishment without any problems. He could have been in the Hiroshima bombing and been able to walk out with only moderate damages to his armor.

Weakness: While powerful and strong, the Hessian is also ungodly slow. Its massive weight and armor make it hard for the Hessian to move, making him a back up unit to Plague and Swamp most of the time. His joints are also exposed.

Biography: In the 1980’s, a plan to rid the world of kaiju was starting to build up pace. Project Hessian was approved by the nations of the world, but before construction could start, funding began to fall away as kaiju attacks stopped. Eventually the world went several years without any serious attacks. Monsters that did attack were weak enough for conventional weaponry to take them down. However, a recent build up of attacks had began to restart the project. After attacks by monsters like Manticore and King Claw, the Anti-Kaiju Defense Forces were born, and just in the nick of time!

Kaiju were coming back in a big way.

The Hessian project was resurrected and given to Corona Eclipse Enterprises, a large organization that had helped reconstruction and defenses of cities from previous attacks during the older years.

As the Hessian is constructed, pilots began to be chosen and eliminated via testing. Eventually ace pilot Zachary Styles, an agent of the United States government in his mid-twenties, is chosen to pilot. When the Hessian was finished, nobody could completely grasp just how powerful it was until a full-power testing of the Neutron Blast virtually obliterated a small island.

People were already unsure of its sheer power and nations on Earth all agreed to outlaw their own research on Neutron Blast technology. More weapons were eventually added and, in a surprising turn of events, the Hessian was given no missiles of any kind. The strongest missiles on Earth, Sparrow Missiles, were utilized by Centaur Tanks. If the Hessian would have to be called into action, then conventional anti-kaiju weaponry had already proved to fail.

The Hessian is strictly non-conventional anti-kaiju weaponry.

The robot would get its first work out against Glorve where its armor would be put to the test against the blob’s acidic body. It worked like a charm and soon the Neutron Blast was used on its first kaiju, and it worked! However, it worked too well. On the outskirts of a city, the shockwaves generated shattered almost every window in the city!

After Gorgs and Ankylotherium battled, and were taken to the Kaiju Reservation in Africa, the Hessian would enter its second fight as projects Swamp and Plague went underway. Its challenge was a swarm of mutant gnats in Mexico, the Gnattra.

This attack was the perfect time to test out some of Hessian’s other powers, such as his steam, shot gun, and cutter beam. As the ground was littered with gooey chunks of exoskeletons and torn wings, the Hessian eventually fired his Neutron Blast into the black mass of insect.

The attack crippled the swarm and killed almost all of them. Those that weren’t killed were knocked out for days by the shockwaves. Not even the queen, whom flew with the swarm, could withstand the force and she was blown out of the sky. The remains of the swarm were taken to the reserve and the Hessian would wait for action again.

Before its next battle would come, however, Plague and Swamp were finished. Just as effective, but much less destructive in their fights, the two Bio-Weapons were often chosen for action before the Hessian. The robot would be used to help capture the likes of Manticore and Stryker, allowing them to be moved to the reservation, but Plague and Swamp would continue the true war…

Until the Klenthurians arrived for battle.

In Washington DC, it was The Hessian that put the final blows on the massively strong monster Rosie with two hits of his Neutron Blasts. The robot, damaged in its battle, would be moved to Tokyo where it would fight against the Klenthurian’s strongest kaiju: Blaradon.

The Hessian was crippled by the alien robot and nearly destroyed. After the battle and the invaders were sent into retreat by their own creation, Thunder, The Hessian was repaired. The years after the war would be much like those before it: monsters appearing here and there with The Hessian, Swamp, Plague, and Taninim fighting them.

The Earth was saved not by mighty technology, but by kaiju. The same kaiju that we had labeled as unspeakable beasts of evil. Humanity was ready, as a whole, to co-exist with them.

As another location was made ready to house monsters, a large man-made island in the Pacific, Genesis Island, the Hessian worked hard in protecting Earth’s cities from predatory and curious kaiju.

Creative History: Boy what a long, strange trip this has been. Let’s see here, the Hessian’s name comes from the movie Sleepy Hollow and, besides just sounding cool, was the name of the headless horsemen (note The Hessian’s lack of a true head). The original Hessian was made by using some picture of a kick ass robot with a huge gun on its shoulder. This was the Hessian that made its way across several RPGs and stories. When I decided to make everything in my series 100% mine, I went through several designs and changes of the Hessian. Most notable is the “changeable” ones that has drawn. He doesn’t seem to mind that I have, again, changed the Hessian. I have kept part of the changeable aspect, namely the hand, but not to the extent that idea was. His designs may not be forgotten, however, and I might end up using the Spartan Hessian design for a completely different robot. This design I am very, very proud and fond of. This is the Hessian I always wanted.
